Flown metal-bodied mechanical pencil carried into space on the first manned Skylab mission, measuring 5? long, etched with the NASA part number “SEB 1210081-301, S/N 1061.” A small swatch of Velcro is affixed to the top. Presented in a 3.75 x 11.5 display. In fine condition. Accompanied signed letter of provenance from Weitz, in part: “Accompanying this letter is a silver mechanical lead pencil that was flown in space during the first manned Skylab mission during May and June of 1973. It orbited earth 404 times during the 28 day mission. The pencil was utilized to make assorted in-flight notations and has a piece of Velcro at the top to keep the pencil safely stored when not being used.” Also accompanied by a photo of Weitz holding the pencil. A great piece extensively used in space.
