General Paul Tibbets Signed Boeing B-29 Super Fortress Enola Gay 1/72 Scale Model length 16” with a wing span of 23.5”, painted mahogany. Signed “Paul Tibbets, Pilot / 6 Aug. 1945”. The Enola Gay is the bomber that dropped "Little Boy", the first atomic bomb ever used in war, when the United States Army Air Forces attacked Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945, just before the end of World War II. Because of its roles in the atomic bombings of Japan, its name has been synonymous with the bombings themselves. It was named after Enola Gay Tibbets, the mother of the pilot, Paul Tibbets. Very fine.

Shipping: Miscellaneous Collectibles, Larg (view shipping information)
