Featured in this lot is this orignal framed painting done by renowned French artist Paul Pascal in 1887. Paul Pascal (1839–1905) was a French landscape painter. He painted landscapes of the Middle East and the Mediterranean shore with gouache. After emigrating to the United States in 1893, he painted scenes of the American wilderness alongside Native Americans. His work is displayed at museums in France. This painting depicts a Middle Eastern scene showing a man riding a camel while another walks beside him. The right side of the painting shows a small market shop with a customer or two, while the background shows large towering buildings. The bottom left of the painting shows the artist's signature reading, "P. Pascal 1887" in black paint. The piece is set in a silver colored frame and has been double matted with an interior matting paper colored silver and a larger, gold colored one. The frame shows some wear from its use over the years but no signs of obvious damage. The painting is in good condition with no wear present. The visible art measures 4 7/8" L x 7 7/16" W, while the entire piece measures 11 5/8" L x 14 1/4" W x 1" D.
