Vintage ink signatures, “Best wishes from Paul McCartney,” and “and Jane Asher” on an off-white 3.5 x 2.5 trimmed slip. Signatures were obtained at the end of 1967 when a Beatles fan sent a letter to McCartney's Campbeltown, Scotland, farm after reading his address in the local newspaper. In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, postmarked December 18, 1967, Heswall, Wirral, Lancashire which indicates that Paul and Jane travelled from Scotland to the Wirral to visit Paul's relatives for the Christmas period and it was then that the autograph was returned. Also accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient which reads, in part: “'I read in the local paper (Daily Record) that Paul McCartney was on holiday at his farm in Machrihanish near Campbeltown. Never expecting that he would get the letter, I wrote to him at High Park Farm and asked if he would give me his autograph and return it in the enclosed stamped addressed envelope. To my amazement I got the autograph a few weeks later obviously posted from somewhere in the Liverpool area.” Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
