German writer and translator (1830–1914) who wrote novels, poetry, and short stories and was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1910. ALS in German, signed “Dr. Paul Heyse,” one page, 5.25 x 3.5, May 13, 1876. Untranslated letter to a woman. Heyse has also addressed the reverse. Small tear and postmark to bottom edge, pencil notation along top, and light toning, otherwise fine condition.
