Feeley was a proponent of color-field painting. Helen Frankenthaler and Morris Louis were the original pioneers of pouring and brushing pigment on raw canvas; Feeley refined the technique and developed a personal language. His use of hovering forms aligned him with Myron Stout and Ellsworth Kelly. Gallery and museum labels verso.
