Scarce AMQS of his most popular work, ‘The Sorcerer's Apprentice.’ Dukas pens 18 measures on double staves on a 8.25 x 5.25 off-white sheet, dated May 1916, and inscribed in French. In full (translated): "Dear Sir, Here is the theme of The Sorcerer's Apprentice which you asked for. I send my warmest wishes, Paul Dukas.” In fine condition, with a central vertical and horizontal fold and a rough bottom edge. The measures quoted are among the most well known in all of music, used in countless films, including Walt Disney's Fantasia, with Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice.
