This is a terrific early Cézanne print.
French painter Paul Cézanne (1839-1906) is often called the father of modern painting. His emphasis on personal expression challenged many notions of its time, although he was not widely accepted in his lifetime. He was rejected by the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, as well as the Paris Salon. His style developed from Impressionism, led the way for Post Impressionism, and influenced many new styles, particularly Cubism. Picasso referred to him as "my one and only master."
