This superb drawing is sure to be a prized showpiece of any art collection.<I>From the collection of Richard and Wendy Pini. Richard says: "I first discovered the work of Paul Calle in a large coffee-table book that collected many examples of illustrations celebrating NASA and man's efforts to travel into and study outer space. I was struck by his mastery of the pencil -- a medium I think I like more than almost any other. Later I discovered Calle's book "The Pencil" -- and then by a stroke of luck was offered this piece by another collector. The texture and gleam of the pencil strokes make this a very sensuous work; surprisingly the subject has little to do with that aspect of it, though she is also appealing."</B></I>
