Patterns 1854 Pattern Cent. Judd-160. Plain Edge. Copper or Bronze. NGC graded Proof 64. Brown. <b>Deep chocolate brown with a few stray dark patina flecks on the obverse. This variety incorporates a head of Liberty similar to the one used on regular-issue large cents but without stars around the inner border. Struck on a reduced weight copper planchet, this is one of several intermediary pieces that were made as patterns before the eventual 72-grain copper-nickel flying eagle pieces entered circulation in 1857.</b> <p align="center">Superior Galleries was founded in 1929 and has been a leader in
