<B>Patriotic Engraving of "The Manner in Which the American Colonies Declared Themselves Independent sic " by George Noble.</B></I> The engraving, by William Hamilton (1751-1801) delin. and George Noble (dates unknown) sculp, shows a man on horseback riding through town reading the Declaration of Independence to cheering crowds; a notice has been posted on a wall "America independent sic 1776." It was first published in Edward Barnard's <I>The New, Comprehensive and Complete History of England,</B></I> (London: Printed for the author by A. Hogg, 1783? ), page. 689. This is a very good, clean, later copy with some tearing at the edges, well away from the image.
