Pat Garrett Handwritten Letter Signed
Excellent one page letter from the Sheriff who brought down Billy The Kid, dated May 23, 1903, in pencil, on Office of the Collector letterhead, El Paso, TX. Garrett writes his wife, who lived remotely for a duration of their lives as Garrett passed from job-to-job across the midwest. In full, “I sent you by today’s mail a lot of papers that will furnish you reading for several days. The Lucky Cook is doing all right. A new house is being built north of our house – six rooms. Annie left Monday night – don’t know how long she will be gone. You may look for me on the day I said I would be there. Kiss the babies for me. Yours – P.F. Garrett.” Light overall toning and various fold lines from previous mailing. In overall fine condition. A great addition for the western collector! Est. 3000 - 3500
