Available for bidding in this lot is a Pat Connolly saddle, crafted in Billings, MT between 1929, and 1950. Pat Connolly is one of three brothers, and son of Irish Immigrant, and expert tack maker - John Connolly. The three brothers (Pat, Andrew, and Jack) moved from Minneapolis to Butte, Montana in 1907, once again relocating to Billings in 1912. It was in 1929 when Jack moved to Livingston that Pat began marketing saddles, and tack under his own name. The saddle shows beauty through simplicity, showing an elegant pin-stripe bordering the seat jockey, and scalloped borders encircling the makers mark on the back of the cantle, and on the seat rise, reading; "Pat Connolly - Maker - Billings, MONT.". The saddle is further accented by copper hardware, chromed rigging dees, and double-stacked scalloped conchos. This saddle is brought to us by renowned Bozeman, Montana Western collector, Bud Chapman. The saddle shows good condition overall, the saddle does display some minor, scattered cracking and scuffing, though the leather is predominantly supple, and hydrated. The saddle uses a 13 1/2" seat.
