Parker Bros. GH Grade Side-by-Side Shotgun, #112762, 12 ga., 2-3/4'' chs., 30'' blue finish Damascus twist barrels with concave matted rib, front and middle white beads, Mod./IC. chokes, double triggers with extractor and a manual top-tang safety. The Number 2 frame has standard ''G'' Grade period engraving with game scene cameos and border scrolls; the lightly figured semi-pistol grip walnut stock and splinter forend have a medium gloss varnish with an original Parker Bros. hard rubber grip cap and buttplate. Length of pull is 14-3/8'', weight is 7-1/8 lbs. Ca. 1902. Overall condition is fair as altered and partially refinished. Barrels have a 90% thinning reblue and are slightly reduced from polishing with fractional shortening at the muzzles; undersides of barrels and lower rib have areas of freckling and pitting with scattered small nicks; barrel breeches have light pitting and oxidation with a weld line along left barrel flat/lug joint; barrel bores and chambers have been polished, the ''Meriden, Conn. Damascus Steel.'' portion of the rib lettering has been milled off; sights are later replacements. Action and exposed forend iron are polished in-the-white with traces of original case colors under the forend iron. Screw slots are generally marred. Buttstock dimensions are reduced from refinishing and a brass crossbolt has been added through the side panels. Small chips in the stock have been repaired; buttplate is reassembled from four pieces. Included with the gun are a Brauer Bros. leg-o-mutton case and three-piece wood cleaning rod. Est.: $750-1,500. (C&R)
