Von Lengerke & Antoine would later become Abercrombie & Fitch. The revolver is also known as "The D.A. Frontier" or "The New Model Navy" and the letter gives a brief history of the revolver. This revolver has a pinned blade front sight and a notch rear sight on the barrel latch. The rib is marked with the two line S&W address/patent dates and the left side of the barrel is marked "FNI PAR L CHOBERT AROR 16LAFAYETTE PARIS". The serial number is marked on the butt, cylinder, barrel and latch, with the number "6209LJG" on the barrel underside. Fitted with extensively carved pearl grips featuring a mythical creature on both panels. The creature's eyes have orange inserts.
