This comes from an old time hoard that dates back at least fifty years and has been the primary source for uncirculated Series 1875 tens ever since. Our consignor's notes indicate he paid a whopping $520 for this specimen in 1980, recalling a halcyon time before the real scarcity of items such as this was recognized.
