Offered for sale in this lot is a Ute parfleche bonnet bag. This parfleche container features traditional designs and is accented with long leather fringe. A parfleche is a Native American rawhide bag, typically used to package and transport goods, clothing, and foodstuffs. Among many of the tribes, it was women's work to make and decorate parfleche (often with designs passed down for generations through families) MAKER:  Signed inside, Debra Box, Ute. APPROX AGE: Fairly modern. SIZE: 20-1/2 inches wide X 34 inches long.  CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear expected.
