George VI, Rupees 100, “Altered Note”, Signed C.D. Deshmukh, Prefix B/50, Calcutta Circle Writing on watermark panel, rubber stamp on reverse, deep centre fold, very fine.
This was actually a Burma over printed note. The over print has been erased for attempted and possibly successful circulation in India. Prefix B/52 has been altered to read Prefix B/50. Also additional evidence is seen with Burmese graffiti on the water mark window on the obverse and a Rangoon stamp on the reverse. The date on stamp is consistence with other Burmese stamps. Very interesting Note.
