Two vintage photos: a matte-finish 9.25 x 13.5 portrait of Taft by Harris & Ewing, signed and inscribed in black ink as president, "For Frank F'euille, an able and faithful public servant with great respect, warm regard and best wishes, Wm. H. Taft," who adds the date, "Jany. 21st, 1913"; and a matte-finish 7 x 9.75 portrait of George Washington Goethals, lengthily signed and inscribed in the lower border in black ink, "To Judge Frank Feuille, Words are not coined which will adequately express my appreciation of the honest, faithful and loyal support you have given me in administering the affairs of the Canal. To no one in the organization do I owe more, in the results that have been accomplished. Faithfully and affectionately yours, Geo. W. Goethals, Balboa Heights, C. Z., May 25/16." Both are individually framed. Goethals is in fine condition; Taft is very good, with light rippling, a spot of silvering to the image, and obvious staining to the upper left from onetime exposure to moisture. Feuille served as counsel and chief attorney for the Isthmian Canal Commission.
