Incorporated March 22, 1888. Cert. #106 issued to L. Sisenvine, Trustee for 100 shares at $100 each dated January 25, 1889. Signed by (illegible), President and Daniel Buck, Secretary. The border and print are black. U/C. Printer: Lith. Britton & Rey, S.F. Paid assessments 1 and 2, dated 1889 are stamped on the reverse. "Location: Eureka County, Nevada" printed above the masthead. Datelined San Francisco. The town of Palisade was founded in 1868 as a station on the Central Pacific and became a starting point for other eastern Nevada mining camps. In 1874 the Eureka & Palisade R.R. began construction, causing the town to increase its importance. As the Eureka mines declined after 1885 and the E. & P. loads decreased, Palisade began its steady decline [Ref: Paher, NV Ghost Towns & Mining Camps].
