Pair of watercolors on paper each 13” by 10-1/2” signed on lower right “Gerald Cassidy” portraying cowboy facing right and cowgirl facing left. The pair are nicely framed and in fine condition with noproblems. The Gerald Ira Diamond Cassidy born 1879-1934 was a well known western artist who attended the Cincinnati Art Academy and the Nat’l Academy of Design. At age 20 he went west for health reasons wherehe started painting western subjects. He settled in Sante Fe in 1912 and was among the earliest three white artists to paint in Sante Fe. His work is shown in major museums throughout the west and hangs in manyprominent collections worldwide. Est.;$2,500-$5,000.
