Pair of pommel bags marked F. A. Meanea with brass studded 2/4 brand on each flap. The bags are in good frontier used condition with some normal leather aging, extra punch holes for tie down, but generally good condition overall with some rusting on the iron buckles from exposure. Meanea is one of most desirable of frontier makers from Wyoming and these pommel bags usually carried the money paid to the Cowboys by the trail boss. The poor cowboys probably couldn’t afford a set this fine and they show the ranch brand for identification. Est.: $600-$1,200.
