Pair of percussion American single-shot dueling pistols stamped “Peterman” on locks, approx. .50 caliber smoothbore, with 9-1/2” medium to heavy weight octagon barrels, 68” overall. Brown plain iron mount. Brown patina finish. The pair remain in good condition. One pistol shows some original brown going to patina. Traces of case hardening on lock. Good wood with crisp checkering, some small dings and minor imperfections but generally very good overall with crisp lock. The mate shows s pitting on the barrel and lock, a slightly darker color. Generally good metal surfaces with good stock showing some small losses, wear at the edges, normal use. A completely original as-found condition. From the William R. Orbelo Collection. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
