Pair of high quality European percussion target pistols marked “Tambor” on barrels with scarce double set triggers, engraved Royal plaques and period case with accessories. The pair measure 16-3/8” overall with 10-1/4” barrels of approx. .41 caliber rifled. The mounts are nicely engraved and the tangs are inlaid with circular silver plaques which are inscribed with the initial “N” showing a crown above with nine points, probably a Prince or King. The pistols show fine quality burl walnut of light color that are nicely fluted and half stocked. The pistols remain in near fine condition showing most of their original brown and satin greyfinished locks and mounts. The engraving and metal are crisp. The case shows a felt lined lid and bottom has a simple grooved wood style with felt lining on contact points. This type case is generally Germanic orEastern European. The case contains a proper mold, mallet, patch cutter and small parts in corner compartment. The exterior of the case is veneered wood which shows some losses around the edges and would be rated as fair
