Pair of high quality English flintlock horseman's size pistols with elaborate hallmarked sterling silver mounts, signed H. Hadley of London, circa about 1750-1770. The pair measure nearly 17" overall, with10-1/2" barrels of .62 cal. smooth bore. The pair show elaborate sterling silver mounts with British hallmarks on trigger guard showing IK, British lion, jester head and Q. The butt caps show a mask, stand of arms,florals with engraved straps; the trigger guard shows engraved stand of arms on the bow with a fancy floral finial. The sideplate shows an elaborate stand of arms, the plaque on wrist shows knights head with stand ofarms and shield. The ramrod thimbles are nicely hand engraved, the stocks show scroll carving around the tang; the locks are nicely floral engraved and the barrels show triple gold bands, gold makers marks and gold barrel inlays, with silver spider web type front sight. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
