Pair of good quality flintlock officer’s pistols by Brander & Potts of London. 12-3/4” overall, approx. 7” barrels of .62 caliber smoothbore. Barrels are octagon shaped, full stocked, brass mounted with belt hooks. Thetangs and triggerguards are nicely engraved with military style trumpets. And the silver owner’s plates at top of wrist are engraved with a crest and initial “C”. The pistols are in very good condition with traces oforiginal brown striping on barrels drifting to patina with good crisp engraving on the locks. Metal surfaces are generally good to very good overall. Stocks also very good for their age with just some minor dings, mars,scratches, and slight imperfections, a couple of small losses at the edges. Old wood ramrods are included. An interesting pair of pistols with unusual engraving of trumpet which may indicate owner’s enrollment in arifle brigade. Est: $3,500 - $7,000
