Pair of flintlock holster-size pistols signed J. Andres Kuchenreuter on barrels and locks, silver mounted, period cased in English style partition case. The pair are approx. .50 caliber smoothbore with 10-3/8” round barrels with octagon top flap. Full stocked to the muzzles, adjustable set trigger, folding sights at breech fancy silver inlaid barrels, with Kuchenreuter riding a horse maker’s cartouche. Barrels show most of their fire-blued finish. The left side of the breeches are stamped with a false proof and there is a large “EX” engraved in front of Kuchenreuter’s name. The locks are bright polished and in their original configuration and show some slight cleaning, minor erosion and pinprick pitting. The stocks are very good plus with nice carving at the tangs in florals, molding around the mounts, and good quality throughout, just some minor scratches, marks in the varnish, and slight wear. The original horn forend caps and horn tips are included. One forend shows a break and expert repair. The pistols are mounted in heavy silver, probably coin silver or 800 fine. The pistols are contained within their original to the period English style agented case with green felt
