of Dublin, Ireland cased with accessories. The pair measure 16 ¾” overall with 10 ½” octagon barrels of approximately .50 caliber smoothbore and half stocked with crisp checkering and high quality throughout showing gold band at the breech and gold makers cartouche along with waterproof pan and gold lined touch hole and pan. The barrels show 85%-95% tobacco brown finish with nearly all of their case hardening on locks, breeches, 90% plus “Robbin’s egg” blue on the trigger guard and set trigger along with silver escutcheon and fore end cap. The barrels show some pitting and cleaning long ago. The interior of the case remains in very good plus to near fine condition with original trade label advertising patent breech and “Dueling pistols engaged to hit point blank at proper distance”. The lid has warped and is not closing. The exterior of the case is good and could be improved with slight restorations. A far above average pair of flintlock duelers of larger than normal size. Good flask and mold included. (Antique)
