Pair of flintlock dueling pistols by Joseph Manton in their original case with accessories remaining in very good untouched condition from and old Pasadena Collector’s Estate. The pistols measure 15-1/2” overallwith 9-7/8” slightly heavy weight octagon barrels of .50 caliber smooth bore. The pair in very good condition showing a light gray patina on barrels with strong traces of original striped pattern. The locks show 50%plus original case hardening with all original parts. The tangs also show 75% plus case hardening. The stocks are very good plus to near fine with just some minor scratches in their original varnish. The trigger guards show 10%-20% drifting original blue with bright blue on triggers. The trigger guards show an engraved #4751. The pistols retain correct style (possibly the original rods) and they are crisp overall. The original case is in very good plus condition showing full original label in lid which reads, “Joseph Manton, Gun Maker, Davies Street & Berkley Square, London. Patentee for the Breeching of guns, hammers of locks, inventor of Platina
