A) Silver blade front and tang notch rear sights, with "TRYON*PHILADA" on the top barrel flat and "TRYON" on the lock plate. Smooth bag shaped grip, with a swivel ramrod, brass and German silver furniture, with a silver oval on the left side of the wrist bearing a faint inscription. Tyron made pistols for the Western expansion and ones such as these were carried together with plain’s rifles to the West. The consignor states this pair was discovered in San Francisco.

Fair. The steel components show a dark brown patina overall, brighter along the edges with scattered handling marks and pitting. The hammer screw is a replacement. Grip is good, with a number of dents and chips, the former concentrated on the left side. Mechanically fair.

B) As A, with a "W" (possibly "Watah") inscribed on the silver stock panel.

Fair, with a mixed brown patina on the steel and heavy pitting concentrated around the muzzle and breech. The stock is fair, with dents and chips overall and minor cracks. Mechanically needs adjustment.
