A charming pair of 19th century English Staffordshire pottery inkwells, each modeled as a reclining greyhound with bright russet fur, black collars, and elongated limbs, resting on deep cobalt blue cushion bases with molded tassel accents. Each figure is hollow with an open inkwell reservoir, the quill holes positioned directly in front of the dogs. The glaze exhibits fine age-commensurate crazing throughout with scattered kiln flecks, typical of period production. An attractive and whimsical pair, perfect for collectors of figural Staffordshire or antique writing accessories.
