Pair of Queen Anne style flintlock pistols with brass barrels and frames signed Wilson, London. The pair are silver mounted with finely engraved crests on plaques inlaid at wrists. The pair measure 12-1/8” overall with 7-1/8” turned cannon type screw barrels of .62 smooth bore. The pair are fine quality and show beautiful engraving at the breeches with British proofs and R.W. barrel proof by Wilson. The butt caps show grotesque mask ofman and side plates show fancy stand of arms with flags and armor. The plaques at wrist are very fancy with Roman helmet, bugles and cannon engraved with the words “Deniquh Caelum” with a crescent moon resting on aplatform. The brass remains in very crisp condition with sharp engraving and well defined edges with no hard polishing. One hammer is an old replacement of a larger size. The stocks are very good plus withsharp shell design carving at the tangs. The silver mounts are also well defined with no over polishing. One end of side plate is broken and missing, a piece that measures about ¾” or about a third of side plate and
