<B>Pair of Quarter Plate Ambrotypes (Krainik 35), </B></I> ca. early 1860s, the first of a woman and the second of a family, housed together in rare double thermoplastic case embossed on both sides with “The Parting of Hafed and Hinda”, <I>Krainik 35</B></I>. This subject is derived from the <I>The Fire-Worshippers</B></I>, a romantic tragedy penned by poet Thomas Moore in 1817. The family group portrait suffers moderate flaking along its lower edge, whereas the case has a small chip along one latch.
