Pair of Pro-Throwers, by John Nelson Cooper (1906-1987), 8-1/4'' thrower blades, 12-1/2'' overall, chocolate brown quilted micarta handle, brass round pommels and guards. Left side center of blades at ricasso marked with Cooper eagle logo; right side factory engraved original owner's initials (HAN) at guard. Original receipt, dated August 1973, is included from Cooper Knives, Burbank, CA, for shipment February 1974. John Nelson Cooper is known as the longest continuous maker of custom made knives in the U.S. Condition is excellent with just the slightest mellowing to brass accents and very light carbon spotting to blades. (Not listed in Cooper catalog in this large format. The catalog throwers were only 10'' in length.) Est.: $400-$600/pair.
