Two original hand-drawn comics by cartoonist Dave Breger and gifted to Hugh Brannum in 1952 and 1953. Brannum played the memorable Mr. Green Jeans on ''Captain Kangaroo''. First comic shows a father holding his son on his lap while watching television, with the caption below, ''Daddy, tell me about radio!'' Signed and dated, ''Dave Breger / 5-7'' with a 1952 King Features copyright. Inscribed, ''Season's greetings to / the Brannums / from / the Bregers / 1952''. Second cartoon shows an octopus playing a medley of instruments. Signed and dated, ''Dave Breger / 3-30'' at lower right with a 1953 King Features copyright. With various pencil notations along border and an inscription in red ink to top reading, ''Season's greetings / to the Brannums / from the / Bregers / 1953''. Each measures 8.25'' x 9.75''. Minor creasing and foxing, overall very good. Acquired at the estate sale of Hugh Brannum's widow on 28 June 2014 in Saylorsburg, PA.
