Pair of "National Junior Suffrage Corps" Items. This lot consists of a 26mm high relief gilt lapel pin having a back clasp and a 25mm green and yellow pinback button. Both items have minor staining, with the pin grading excellent condition and the button very fine. The National Junior Suffrage Corps was an organization started up in 1914 by Caroline Ruutz-Rees of Connecticut, a principal of a girls' school in Greenwich and a third Vice President of the American Woman Suffrage Association. She believed that the future success of the woman's movement was dependent upon the enlistment of young people. The motto for her group, accordingly, which is emblazoned on the two badges, was "Youth Today, Tomorrow Power." The gilt pin of this design has never appeared in auction before, and this is the only known copy.

Shipping: Small Collectibles (view shipping information)
