Pair of Napoleonic era French officer’s style pistols signed “Berleur” cased with shoulder stock and accessories. The pair were both originally flintlock and one was converted to percussion. The pistols show classic first Empire era stylingwith square trigger guards and squared off butts. The mounts are finely engraved steel. Both pistols are equipped with set triggers and there is a turnoff escutcheon in each wrist exposing a key slot which is base for mounting the originalshoulder stock. The pair are approximately .52 caliber smoothbore with 7 ¾” barrels and are nearly 13 ¾” overall. The metal surfaces have been lightly cleaned to a bright finish with some scattered minor erosion and pinprick pitting. Themetal surfaces are at least very good plus. The stocks have been lightly cleaned and show good checkering and are also at least very good overall. The pair are cased within a green felt lined original box which remains in very good plus to near fine condition with full complement of flintlock accessories. The body of the flask originally was horn and was expertly replaced with wood. The exterior of the case is veneered hardwood probably mahogany with fancy brass
