This Large Pair of Milanese Six Light Silver Candelabrum are in Excellent Condition, c. 1934-1944. These candelabra are designed with rococo tastes, and have five candle branches and six lights. They have never been electrified, and were always intended for wax candles. Candelabrum of this size are quite extraordinary, and always make a dramatic statement. The date is identified by the makers mark found in several places under the bobeches, it is a lozenge with the silversmith number a fascio and the province. This mark was only used in Italy from 1934 to 1944. It indicates these candelabra were made in Milan by the silversmith with registration number 55. The silver content is 800 parts pure silver and 200 parts copper, as indicated by the mark ?800? found next to the makers mark. Silver objects that were subject to utilitarian uses often were made of this silver combination because it is a more durable material than pure silver. This pair is forged of 20 kg of silver. Measuring 21 1/2? dia x 31?H, they are beyond fabulous for the most elite designs. Please view all pictures, serious inquiries are welcome!
