Used by Roy along with his quick draw single action smoothbore revolvers for shooting demonstrations, these .38-40 caliber, 20” barrel carbines have carbine butt, Marble’s buckhorn sights, and retain about 90% blue. S/Ns 549 & 582. Smoothbores are scarce and were popular with early trick shooters such as Buffalo Bill Cody and other Wild West stars. They normally were used with cartridges loaded with shot to break targets thrown in the air.
