A) European Single Shot Percussion Pistol. This lot consists of a pair of European single shot percussion pistols. Fixed sights with the Damascus barrel gauging at approximately .50 caliber percussion and the number "1" marked on top of the barrel at the breech and a Liege "ELG" proof stamped on the left side. There are no maker markings. Has a set trigger. Floral engraved upper tang, hammer, lock plate, grip cap, and spur trigger guard. The stock has a shell carved forend tip, single barrel wedge, checkered grip area and flared butt.
BBL: 10 inch octagon
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 50
Finish: brown
Grips:
Serial Number: NSN
Condition: Very good. The barrel retains 40% of the Damascus pattern with the balance between a smooth gray and smooth brown patina. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth gray patina. There is some minor pitting. The stock is fine with a pair of cracks near the upper tang on the left side and some minor handling marks. There are some very scattered minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering. Action needs work as the hammer does not hold a full cock position.
