Pair of letters being: 1) letter from Board to examine officers appointed in the infantry of the army, dated Nov. 21, 1866. Letter states Meade Jr has passed examination into Army. Letter is signed by Christopher C. Auger (1821-1898) as Colonel 12th US Infantry. Letter measures 7.5" x 4.75". 2) Letter to Meade Jr requesting military information needed by the Secretary of War.
