Pair of large oriental porcelain vases; Chinese; probably 19th C.; apocographically impressed with the "Ch'eng Hua" 13th C. seal form mark; Bulbous vases with flaring necks feature overall decoration with grape vines, leaves and bunches of grapes; 2 squirrels are perched on the vines of each vase; plantation leaves extend upward above the two molded and applied foo dog masks; each mask is holding a ring in its mouth; the marks are in a deep brown glaze with the plantation leaves, squirrels and grape vines in a deep blue color, while the grape clusters are black; the craquelure ground is crème colored; each 24" tall x 8.5" diameter
