Calhoun Secretary of War.</B></I>" One page, 8" x 10", War Department letterhead, [Washington], October 10, 1818. This document is a pension claim for a Revolutionary War soldier, Samuel Anderson, who was to receive eight dollars per month for his pension. <BR><BR>The document is in very good condition; usual folds are present; the document is somewhat wrinkled near the fold lines; separation present on horizontal folds; docketing information present on verso. <BR><BR>Free Franked Envelope 2-Signed: "<I>J.C. Calhoun.</B></I>" Free franked envelope, 6" x 3", Ordinance [sic] Office- War Department [Washington D.C.], nd. Free franked envelope sent to a Lt. N. Baden who was on ordnance duty at the U.S. arsenal near Baltimore. <BR><BR>The envelope is in very good condition; black scuff marks and soiling present on the obverse; wax seal still present; large tear on lower edge where seal was broken; edges slightly worn. <BR><BR>This pair of signed items comes complete with an engraving of Calhoun; perfect for display!
