Pair of Japanese cobalt blue earthenware vases. Of ovoid body form featuring scenes of geisha, cherry blossoms and Mt. Fuji with a pagoda on the back. Slight wear on gold gilt in some parts but in otherwise good condition. Marked on base with maker's mark, Nakaya. Early 20th century, circa 1920. 31 x 17 cm, 1668 grams, 1809 grams. Provenance: Acquired from private British estate
