Pair of Imperial Famille Rose "Sacred Peach" Vases. 1723-1735 A.D. Pa t'ao kuan p-ing-Eight peaches painted in beautiful overglaze famille rose enamels with five bats in rouge de fer, positioned diametrically. Symbolic of long life and happiness. Of imperial quality, these porcelain vases were reserved for members of the imperial family and were usually presented as a celebration of the birth of a child. The underfoot bears a horizontal six-character mark in underglaze cobalt blue within double rings reading "Ta Ch'ing Yung Nien Chih, meaning "Made during the reign of Emperor Yung Cheng of the Great Ch'ing dynasty. Excellent Condition. Standing 21" tall, 15" wide. The mouth of the vases measure 5" wide. The neck of the vases is 9" tall. 25 lbs. each.
