Pair of Femars A&S double-barrel full sidelock in 28 and 410ga. 27-1/2” barrels, single trigger, auto ejectors, English style straight grip with checkered buts. Serial #31882 and #31883. The pair are signed by “G. M. Cargnell”. Gun #31882 is 28ga and choked “Cylinder” (right) and “Full” (left). The gun is beautifully engraved with hunting dogs and ducks in pond on left surrounded by scroll. Right side shows hunting dogs onpoint. The bottom of frame shows reclining dogs. The balance of French grey frames are beautifully adorned in high quality European style scrolls. The gun shows a 14-5/8” stock measured from the trigger to the end of thecheckered butt. The condition is fine to excellent with just possible test-firing, no evidence of use and shows a low-profile hand-filed non-ventilated rib. Gino Cargnell was originally a European engraver who for atime worked for Browning and later relocated to Southern California.
