Pair of European Flintlock Gold Inlaid Dueling Pistols -A) European Flintlock Dueling Pistol
Most likely French in origin, this is a fine set of Flintlock Duelers. The top barrel flat has a deeply struck, gold highlighted proof and the lock plate is without markings. The letters in the barrel proof appear to be "LC." The barrel has a single gold band at the muzzle and double gold bands at the breech. The touch hole is accented with gold. The furniture is iron. A notch rear sight is integral to the barrel tang. The stock features multi-point checkering on the grip area and an iron buttcap. The iron ramrod has a button head.
