Pair of etchings of Jean Gallus and his wife by D. Mordant after portraits by Anthonis Mor Van Dashorst (1517-1576), also known as Antonio Moro. Moro was a Flemish Renaissance painter known for capturing the psychology of the sitter and his attention to detail. Daniel Charles Marie Mordant (1853-1914) was a well-known French etcher and printer. Jean Gallus (1514-43), also known as Jean Le Cocq, was a Franco-Flemish composer and, believed to be, a Papal singer. An identical pair of etchings of Jean Gallus and his wife are part of the collection of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Signs of wear and tear on border can be concealed by a mat at the time of framing. Additional photos available upon request. Please send us an email with your state, country and zip code so we can estimate shipping charges to your location.
