Pair of English center hammer brass blunderbuss pistols with snap bayonets and nicely checkered wood grips signed “Lewis & Tomes”. The pair measure 9-1/4” overall with 4-1/4” barrels that show a turned cannontype muzzle and are approx. 70 cal smooth bore. The pair are mounted with spring released snap bayonets that are operated by sliding back trigger guard. The condition is very good plus to near fine with sharp brass surfaces with detailed engraving and crisp wood with fine checkering. The hammers show 75% plus case hardening, trigger guard show traces of finish and a patina. There is some light surface rust that would clean easily. An exceptional pair.
