Pair of Colt 3rd Model Derringers in 41 cal rim fire, nickel plated ivory grips with original to the period leather traveling style case, serial #’s 44962 & 44950 (only 12 numbers off and a true pair). The pistolnumbered 44962 shows 90-95% original nickel, slight loss along outside edge, some very minor scratches and no polishing. The metal is sharp and crisp, the hammer shows most of its case hardening, these screws show brightoriginal blue, there is a small mark at the breech from closing with hammer down. The bore is bright and derringer is near excellent with nice patina on minty grips. Pistol number 44950 is in like condition toits mate, slightly better 95-98% nickel, some minor scratches, there is a mark on left side of breech from closing with hammer down, the hammers shows most of its original bright case hardening, bright blue on screws. The grips show a crack on left and normal aging with good patina. The bores on both derringers are bright. The case shows a green felt interior with a leather exterior mounted with a brass hinge and lock
